MontyLingua - Natural Language Tool
« on: January 06, 2017, 05:22:49 PM »
Art sent me this, thought the forum might find it useful. I haven't played with it myself as if I were to need anything like it I would enjoy it more if I coded it myself.

Quote
MontyLingua is a free*, commonsense-enriched, end-to-end natural language understander for English. Feed raw English text into MontyLingua, and the output will be a semantic interpretation of that text. Perfect for information retrieval and extraction, request processing, and question answering. From English sentences, it extracts subject/verb/object tuples, extracts adjectives, noun phrases and verb phrases, and extracts people's names, places, events, dates and times, and other semantic information.

About 13 years too late for me (built my own now), but I'll bookmark the link because I often get people asking for semantic parsers. It looks solid. They're using ConceptNet for their "common sense" aka disambiguating words. I should do more of that, after I do everything else.
Thanks Art, and Freddy.

Glad it's useful in some way. I think I will be building my own soon too.

We could do with expanding some of the topics here that do have useful links. I removed some out of date ones before Christmas when I was doing some tidying.
