Science fiction this good does not come along very often.

Drop whatever you're doing and go watch it.

That truly was the best representation of a dream I’ve ever seen. Oh the human mind. What a thing. I’m left with the same feeling and everything. That’s amazing work, and a unique piece of art, and an enticing world. Maybe the best parts were what wasn’t shown, but instead left for the viewer’s imagination to fill in the gaps. I don’t see this done much but the effect is one of my favorites.

That's my take on this right after watching it. A great start to the weekend, thanks.

Amazing. Amazon on wheels with Alexa. Let's hope our cities don't become so dirty and lost with the remains of advanced technology, due to covid-19. It is not so bad though (though maybe not), the city still functions (I think), despite there being lots of random dirt and no grouping of objects, though may not work so well. In fact it is not so far off from our own cities. There's plenty of bugs, dirt, and messes everywhere.

I really liked the assassin and the underground floor control system of the city, and perhaps the girl too. Worth seeing those parts. I want to be/ be part of the underground floor control system.

Nice steam punk graphics and style, but health & safety today is so beyond what you could think of 20+ years ago that the future is more like sanitised white rooms and needles/pills...

A 2013 movie called The Zero Theorem with Christoph Waltz shows a future full of health & safety (but more towards the virtual online working world as well) versus an ordinary guy with ordinary human needs.

Well the assassin bot depicted in the movie is a real thing already.  :'(

Quote
The incident occurred in March 2020 in Libya, a country that was in the midst of a civil war. Turkey, a key combatant in the war, deployed the STM Kargu-2 drone, according to the UN Security Council's Panel of Experts on Libya report. The drone, which the report refers to as a "lethal autonomous weapon," then found and attacked Libya's Haftar Armed Forces.

Gilliam! God, how did I miss it? I need to see this now.

Both punk and oversafe are present in reality, as seeds of potential combined futures. It's all in what you choose to emphasize, day after day. A mere printer sounds cyberpunk to me, but it looks like Jo Simon tends to feed the good wolf anyway. Which is all that matters in the end.

Well I didn't "drop everything" but I did finally watch it and wow it's good.

Most of what we're seeing here appears to be the life of the scruffy working class. They don't get "health and safety," they get whatever they can scrape together. Also, things could go very different directions in different parts of the world. So I don't find it implausible.
