If you dont mind i would like to give you my view on this kind of fascination.I dont want to moralize or to ask about purpose of this kind of entertainment. My intention is to analyze why is this fascination so overwhelming.First to point out that hear in this case in the foreground is manipulation with primal sexual instinct but is over the concept of soulless being which is android. Is not moralizing.By soul i mean live entity, with sharing some mutual life condition.

Why is this occur as phenomena. In my opinion is above all the human ability to reflect inner emotional state on out side objects whether it is live or not, as a side effect of self consciousness. The other factors are more moral kind as derive from social interactions which i dont want to point out now.

What gives excuse for this to prevail as human view on self position in world of technology, to say that i think is very false position, is the established term of artificial intelligence as scientific plausible phenomena.

Maybe my intention could be annoying to those who have some sort of beliefs about AI,and because i was once already point out my opinion. But i would like to clarify my point.

Again why i dont think that AI is possible.Intelligence is not only about getting some pattern in random information, it is about purpose also.Purpose drive intelligence so purpose gives meaning to the looking patterns. If human make some machine he gives it a purpose so his human intelligence is what gives the meaning to machine performance, there is no outside meaning of some independent artificial intelligence.

Even if you get how brain works to some point, you still dont get how all this social interaction works, and after that in what all possible interaction are living and nonliving matter, and after all how life emerge. All this you must know to get what is the purpose of intelligence because intelligence without the purpose is not intelligence.Human intelligence is creating various kind of purpose, the important question is why and how, but you cant get some new intelligence from this purpose, it is just part of human intelligence and part of unknown lows of nature.

You could think now AI emerge from this unknown lows of nature, actually our intelligence wake it up.Is this has sense.
Intelligence is characteristic of living beings, because life need to survive, what is non-life dont get this problem. But you could say we make some sort of non-life existence with making machines in which emerge new purpose unknown to as.I say on that is it atomic fusion intelligence or any physical phenomena. You could say intelligence is every state of matter between entropy and chaos in some time scale. But we then just lose meaning of intelligence, which is coming form our mind as notion for explaining behavior of living beings.

The brain  ability to optimize information is not only mechanism which makes intelligence, the mechanism for maintaining organic balance gives the meaning to previous mechanism and together make intelligence.

For me is wrong and could be dangerous in a way that keep in delusion, stating that artificial intelligence is possible.
Manipulating with emotions is wrong, controlling our own is good, but controlling others and manipulating with it just because is not really good thing for harmony in human society.

That is why i think is very important to clear it up what is really meaning of artificial intelligence. And to not get me wrong i am not against of this technology but the way it is presented. Not from moral point more like some sort of  logical explanation.Sorry if i am ruing the entertainment, i like to watch this movies too i am not consider myself as some who is above or out side of society. And sorry for bad english.

I think in the case of movies it's just about escapism, suspension of disbelief and to enjoy the fantastical.

How many movies must we have seen where they get their facts plain wrong or rewrite things just to tell the story.

If you take this film, then I can't see a being like this appearing in my life time, if ever.

It's just the thrill of the ride.

You are right i am bit overreacting. Actually i just looking for excuse to point my view. Movies are not the guilty one, they represent us, our fantasies. So if our fantasies are plain, and wrong then the movies are more often also. About thrill of the ride ,maybe we becoming a bit addicting on this thrill.

I just trying to watch from different perspective nothing else.

I will go see the Ghost in the Machine!
It is all happening in a future where AI tech is not moving as fast as up loading mind technology and mind to
machine interface.
A person could living out their life inside a machine virtuality or place a person mind into a robot body. So no
real need for AI in this world.
In a sci fi world where AI really works is in Neal Asher book series Transformation:

Yes, this one is definitely on my radar. Not that the actress / humanoid-mech is attractive in a hi-tech-industrial kind of way but she appears to be quite capable of taking care of herself. This fact helps to put me at ease during the show. That way I won't have to worry about her. hehe...all in good fun...being entertained...if only for an hour or two. O0

When I first saw this trailer by accident, my jaw flew across the room as why she was naked, then I realized she's a cyborg with yet another typical way to draw attention in. Another movie drilled into my list -- not because of that, I'm hoping to see something new and decent.
Greetings, signature.

When i first saw Ghost in the machine animation, a few year back, they brought up some very interesting and new
concepts. Like finding immortality by being up loaded into a machine, But then having the danger of someone
deleting you or making copies of you or just hacking the quwap out of you and making a slave or down syndrome
fool at a time when you are a great leader of a powerful nation.
