Here are a few computer / AI movies. Given the time frame for the older ones, they were still pretty good.

Simone is a film about a Hollywood director, at the bottom of his career, who secretly inherits the technology to insert a digital actress into his films and pass her off as the real thing.

Enemy of the State is a fast-paced action thriller that is an insightful and shocking portrait of a Big Brother government, where nearly every move you make and every word you say is recorded and observed.

Wargames (1983) - A teenage computer whiz (Matthew Broderick) gains access to the Pentagon's strategic computer

Johnny Mnemonic - Keanu Reeves plays a 21st Century courier who has erased a good portion of his long term-memory to store the information he delivers. It turns out that the info is so important that his employers would just as soon cut off his head and extract the info from his brain as allow him to deliver it.

Sneakers - Cosmo blackmails Bishop into getting his staff to steal a device that can crack any encryption. After they steal the device Bishop and his staff have to decide if they want to turn such a dangerous device over to Cosmo, or bear the terrible consequences.

Virtuosity - Los Angeles Law Enforcement Technology Advancement Center created Sid 6.7. Sid is an interactive virtual reality training tool modeled on the psychological profiles of history's most vicious killers. The purpose of this program is to train new detectives on the pursuit and capture of these psychopathic villains. Sid has so much AI that he becomes aware of himself and the nature of his existence. After a monumental leap of logic, Sid obtains a silicon-based physical body and begins a murderous rampage on the unsuspecting city.

Colossus : The Forbin Project (1970) - An artificially intelligent supercomputer is developed and activated, only to reveal that it has a sinister agenda of its own.
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

A nice list, thanks for reminding me of Wargames, I loved that film!? I think Hal should be taught to play tic tac toe, or noughts and crosses as we say in the UK, if you remember that bit.? I'm going to have to find a copy of that again.

If Collosus is the film I am thinking of then, that was one of the first films of it's type I think?? It was scary when I was young to see this kind of thing, though I was hooked at the time I remember.? We liked any kind of film with robots/computers or monsters in!

Johnny Mnemonic wasn't that memorable (ho ho) according to the critics, but who listens to them?? I haven't seen it, but read the original William Gibson story.? I recommend Burning Chrome as a good AI/cyber collection of short stories, which I think is where the story was taken from.
