New AI film!
« on: October 07, 2008, 01:30:52 pm »
Ok, I the trailer the other night;

Film's called EAGLE EYE about (SPOILER;two people have been asked by an AI to elimate the executive branch of the US goverment due to an error that cost the lives of a number of innocents.

The AI's voice gave it away (the artificial nature of the AI is not given away in the trailer, nor for a good part of the film, apparently). Think of what GLADoS would of sounded like had she been sane.

Yes, I've been wanting to see this one!

It kind of reminds me, in a somewhat similar way, of The Enemy of the State, in that
"they" know everything about you and know where you are, etc.

Cool flick in case you haven't seen it.

Yeah the trailer advert here on UK TV makes it look it like a cross between Enemy and Matrix...looks very flashy but little substance and a rehash of a thousand other films, but then it is Hollywood, they not had an original idea in 40 years have they...

Yeah, they (Hollywood) are especially good at making "remakes" of old classics - real talent there! (NOT).

I think the Matrix trilogy and The Enemy of the State and Minority Report were some original eye-opening films.
Of course there were other in the past that could fall into the same sentence but these three come to mind for now.

Good stuff!

If Dante wants to see a remake of the Terminator Series (actually a cheap attempt) in a low cost, badly written and
poorly acted file, then by all means get a copy of Future War, starring Daniel Bernhardt (2004).

The best thing about it is you can usually find it at any Dollar Store in the discount rack!

You can hate me later!! ;D
