Konstruktor
« on: October 16, 2018, 09:43:57 pm »
This is sort of a much shortened, similarly structured file to Ex Machina but with a twist.
The actors are speaking Polish but the subtitles and actions more than convey the plot as it unfolds.

A minor glimpse of backside nudity should not be too unsettling but that was only for a few seconds and within the context.

We speak of emotions ruling our minds and bodies but to what extent and how far will or could it affect us...
especially if we aren't exactly real?

Confused? Good...watch:

Thanks, this was doubly nice to see since I grew up in Poland.

Having carefully analysed all the important themes and plot features of this video I'd like to offer another version of the story, this one from Turkey. There are no sub-titles unfortunately, but you'll get the idea. I bet you can't wait until Spot Mini can do that.

But seriously, I think the short film makes a good point. AI will be better off, if we design their body according to their needs, instead of our desires.

But it wasn't our desires (or her partner's desire). It was her desire that she wanted and to him, that wasn't acceptable nor possible.
None-the-less, a very thought-provoking and interesting concept.

Sorry about any infringement(s) whether implied or actual. Why post it in the first place if not intending to share? Hmm...

No worries. I wasn't referring to your video. infurl replied with a video of a Turkish woman dancing. Just doing a dance routine lol. And I was jokingly replying to that.

Yes, it was her desire which led to... It.  But, it was his body design for her which tricked her into an impossible wish.

I fail to see how infurl's choice of video had anything to do with A.I., androids or even close to what the "android" was trying to portray in my video??

Ex Machina was about an artificial being as was the one in Konstruktor. Infurl posted a video of some woman doing a type of belly dance.  :o

While Konstructor was a very enjoyable movie it had nothing to do with robots or artificial intelligence. It started out with the man committing a premeditated attack on the woman which left her dead or brain damaged. Subsequently she appeared as a naive sex slave who slowly reacquired a personality of her own, to the point where she was capable of attacking the man and rendering a kind of natural justice.

There were some nice technological gimmicks in the decor of the house, it had a similar setting to Ex Machina, there was some dancing, but that's where the similarity to Ex Machina ended. It was merely a thriller or horror story, and we read about similar things happening in real life with horrifying regularity. There was nothing thought provoking here.

Right. I see it now. I blinked at the start and missed half the plot. Thanks infurl.

It seems that he kept trying to get her to become more human, even inserting that chip into the back of her neck.
Then, after all is done, she wants a baby, much like a human woman would and he tell her that she isn't human! What a dose of reality - slap!

I guess her emotional chip finally kicked in at the end. A woman's scorn.

The clue is in the title, the writer has used ambiguity to incite curiosity; I think it’s well done though as noted by Art it’s basically the same storyline as Ex Machina.

The woman at the beginning is an android, we know this because of the music, it’s the same as when the android is dancing at the end of the film in front of the dead constructor.

When sat at the table eating breakfast he asks her is she finds the film funny, she replies no, so she has no humour.  When she brings him coffee and asks what he’s doing he replies, a small improvement.  He asks loads of questions about love and feelings, she has no opinion and no feelings, and she just cites definitions.

The pattern on the wall is a representation of her mind state; we know this because when se hugs him it creates an aura around them.

He then inserts the upgrade card into the back of her neck.

From then on it’s all about her becoming emotionally evolved; he tells her she is a woman so she naturally concludes she can have children.  When he tells her she isn’t a human well... again as Art said… hell hath no fury like a woman scorned lol.

 :)

Promotion, I thought, is what infurl's choice had to do with your video.
Without any nudity, it has thirteen million more views than your video.
To say the least, it suggests an improvement for the Konstruktor sequel.

This is just polite feedback -- This discussion thread turned out good.
And the short film was an excellent contribution.  I enjoyed it in Polish.
