Around 1983, David Morse and Christopher Plummer starred in a movie called Prototype, "The Future is not friendly".

Actually the film doesn't go into all the inner workings or aspects of the android but rather deals with the interaction
of it and people in society. It's acceptance as being perceived as a real human is cause for celebration and then
defeat.

Very good acting, script and story line as things unfold.

BTW, I found the movie for $1.50 in a discount rack. (don't know how I missed this one).
