WestWorld
« on: October 08, 2016, 01:15:26 am »
Thanks to the kind generosity of a friend, I had the opportunity to watch WestWorld, which is, I believe, a new HBO TV series. I thought it was simply a remake of the 1973 version of WestWorld that cast Yule Brenner as the gunman in black that went, shall we say, not quite according to plan...the programming plan, that is.

This movie is set in the scene right out of the old west from the very beginning. The viewer is teased back and forth trying to guess who is whom and which is correct and which is not. It also stars Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood and James Marsden. Follow along carefully and you might just get the gist of what is going on and perhaps why?

It also touches on many of the aspects that we, who are A.I. enthusiasts, roboticists and other mavens of the Sci-Fi arena. There are many subtle details that are often overlooked that can be so very important in contributing toward the overall realism of the product or project.

It is a film that is both entertaining and enlightening...where the old west meets the hi-tech lab. The result is sure to be fun and rewarding.

Do take time to view this movie. I think you'll like it.

You are correct.  I actually hate remakes but have managed to see the first episode myself, quite impressed.  But I think this is down to it not being a remake of the film, it is a new imagining of the short novella, and perhaps more importantly, it is written and directed by the often lesser known Nolan brother, who is just as talented in my opinion as Christopher.

Looking forward to where this one goes :)
