Title: 10 million what?
Post by: Art on February 14, 2016, 02:39:03 pm
Cars mate! Yep...10 million of them. Hope there's no such thing as driverless car rage!

I can foresee a point in time where they decide that humans driving the car is illegal. Driverless cars might be safer but it is actually fun to drive a stick shift.

Funny you mention that but a friend of mine was hiring some truck drivers. All of the applicants told him that they were only able to operate an automatic transmission and NOT drive a standard (clutch) one!! None were hired that day!

I learned to drive on a clutch car with 3 speeds on the column (4 if counting reverse) and on very steep hills in Pennsylvania, USA. Yeah...for all you wise guys that was just after the horse and buggy!! Funny! No age related jokes or I'll snap you with my buggy whip!!  :knuppel2: :2funny:

I've never driven an automatic - my Dad took one on a few years back and he found it hard to adapt at first.

I find it satisfying to change gear for some reason.

That's rather amusing as the vast majority of autos here in the USA are equipped with Automatic transmissions.

No clutch, no leg workouts, just select the Forward gear then press the gas / petrol pedal and off you go. Simple...brake pedal, gas pedal and somewhere close by an Emergency Brake or Parking brake.

One can often order a car or locate one with a manual transmission but as I mentioned thet are not commonplace.

Over here you'd have to find somethiing else to do with your feet! ;)

Here in Croatia all people have mind controlled cars. You just think "go forward", "turn left" or "slow down" and the car goes, turns and slows down. You can even control the car from outside, so if the car is far away in the distance, you can steer it to park near you, so you don't have to walk across the whole parking. But you have to think in Croatian, otherwise the car doesn't understand what you're saying.

But there is another big but, as always. Cars can't turn right with mind control, there are some technical difficulties with command "go right", so all cars have exactly one clutch controlled by hand which says "go right". When you push it, the car steers right.

Otherwise, all works fine. Except when you are near your mind twin. You see, a mind twin is a person which has similar brain wavelength like you and then commands interfere from both of you and car goes in all directions, except up. And here are some rich people that bought tens of mind controlled cars, adjusted them to their brain wavelength and they steer swarms cars down the road.

Oh, and not to forget, big cars can eat small cars, so if you have a small car, you better watch out.

hehe :2funny:

;D Like it - seems like a well thought out system you have.

Ivan,
You really are a replicant like your title indicates! O0

I saw a car that runs quietly on compressed air. They would probably make a loud "POP" when the big cars bite them! :2funny:
