Amazon plans to turn Alexa into a 'Star Trek' AI assistant

                    Amazon wants Alexa to boldly go where no AI has gone before. The e-commerce giant envisions its voice assistant functioning like the 'Star Trek computer', in that it will answer users no matter where they are in their home with instant feedback.

So, the plan is to put wifi-connected speaker/microphone plugs all around the house.
Sounds more expensive than my wireless headset, and I anticipate some privacy issues if you're basically bugging your own home.
I'd prefer Star Trek's com badge.
