This video is entertaining, but it also presents a new algorithm for modeling topic with no need to understand what's being said in the conversation using matrices of co-occurrence frequency.

Art, I think this may go beyond just being a good video.  And, you're right of course!  It won Best Video of 2017 by IEEE.  I just wanted to emphasize the news value of this story for our A.I. community here. 

This story is likely a true breakthrough for chatbots. It features an  algorithm that in a new way, addresses that age-old chatbot criticism, that they do not really understand what's being chatted. 

According to, The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, chatbots can now approximate what's being said to them, instead.  This may, I think, in some respects close a number of gaps between narrow A.I. and A.G.I.
