your link didnt work . . but I understand what your references are saying about AI/robotics in general . . . the same general thing was portrayed in the old comicbook series Magnus Robot Fighter 3000 AD back in the early-mid 60's

you might want to read the manga story "Chobits" . . the things it presents in the story are fascinating and very well/intelligently handled
