Do We Need to Prepare for the Robot Uprising?

                    Some of the brightest minds in science and tech think we need a plan to keep humans safe from supersmart machines For most of my life, I've been disappointed in robots. Movies always depicted them as walking, talking, humanoid, smart--and cool.

I think we should be afraid of a robot uprising, as much as we should be worried about the sun turning supernova. Ok, it may happen but not for millennia.

To be more honest i am more worried about someone misusing AI then actual robots. I have the opinion that computer AI would prove to be more dangerous then robots.

As it turns out, all three were responding to an initiative by Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Max Tegmark. In 2014 he co-founded the Future of Life Institute, whose purpose is to consider the dark side of artificial intelligence.

Sooo... Theoretical fascination had them all spooked?

In the physical world, robots and AI don't stand much of a chance. There are too many variables and it just isn't efficient to go after a population of bazillions with individual units, taking into account that metal in the real world is not indestructible and the power packs these robots carry run out fast: Asimo's battery lasts only one hour. So that's exactly how long the reign of a robot army would last  .
I expect our first sign of trouble to be what DemonRaven says. AI software would basically be a really tough virus that some people wouldn't hesitate to use to overrun important computer systems or disrupt financial systems.
