Giving Citizenship to Bots
« on: May 11, 2019, 02:07:40 pm »
What?! Who would ever think of doing such a thing at this rather early juncture in AI and bot development?
Malta...that's who!

https://decryptmedia.com/6981/civil-rights-for-bots

To my way of thinking it's one thing to treat them in a kind and decent manner while they are being developed but it's a whole other issue to give them citizenship! I'm just saying that it's still quite a bit early in the grand scheme of things.

Thoughts??
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

I guess the government of Malta has been watching too many Hollywood movies. Why on earth would a machine be granted citizenship? Next, they'll be saying my microwave oven is eligible to vote...

Makes sense,  I don't care how intrinsic the intelligence method is,   its just a machine.

We are just machines too, doesn't stop us from being alive. I don't see why silicon can't get sentient just as it happened with carbon.

Ben Goertzel pushing his cryptocurrency shenanigans again. Even considering giving "AI" like his Sophia robot voting rights is completely delusional, because they can not remotely comprehend reality.
CO2 retains heat. More CO2 in the air = hotter climate.

Here's why,
When you look on the website Singularity.com, you can see they purposely make it look scary to get attention. They say on one page the daemon embedded on the webpage etc for IoT....this s just a program and computer terms, .... They show sophia on their homepage.
