How AI might affect urban life in 2030

A diverse panel of academic and industrial thinkers has looked ahead to 2030 to forecast how advances in artificial intelligence might affect life in a typical North American city, and to spur discussion about how to ensure that AI applications are deployed in ways that are safe, fair and beneficial. Their takeaway: 'It is not too soon for social debate on how the fruits of an AI-dominated economy should be shared.'

Nice but that Diverse Panel missed the future need for a personal Android, humanoid, companion that could be needed company for lonely, elderly, disabled, shut-ins, or perhaps other possible applications where an A.I with NLP that could be both a good listener and conversationalist but also serve as an assistant in and around the home.

Loneliness is an extremely unfortunate and potentially damaging circumstance for one to experience and suffer through.
I have been there and it was not pretty.

Like it or not, in the near future, there will be robots, humanoids, androids, etc., and we will interact with them on a daily basis and some will be our friends and some will be our companions and helpmates.
