Apple, IBM, and Google are sure to be among the significant software vendors for all the Artificial Intelligence (AI) car and light truck market participants. IBM has a huge head start with its excellent middleware branded integrated solutions that are hardened and reliable. Google has mindshare and early market success with its early market trials.

Apple and Google are trying to make cars like phones... IBM is still a question mark - they've been putting work into Automotive Grade Linux (AGL) in alliance with practically every other car maker in the world... Apple/Google/Microsoft really have a monopoly tech wise.

Its not like a Sega master system or Nintendo entertainment system,  the brand-name involved here has your life on the line,  similar to a jet airline I guess.

Yeah, I get a kick out of people when someone they know is flying somewhere and they say, "Have a safe flight!"
Nice try but it is already far removed from their hands the moment they strap into their seats.
The word passenger usually denotes someone who is not in control of the vehicle (plane, bus, boat, train) on which they are traveling.

Funny, but operator, used to mean a person who was controlling/piloting a plane, bus, boat, train...

We'll see how well this all works out. O0
