Title: IBM's 'Neuromorphic' Chip
Post by: Ultron on February 15, 2015, 08:57:27 pm
IBM has presented a prototype of it's new 'neuromorphic' chip which is structured much like a human brain. It consists of 5.4 billion transistors, each connected with 256 other transistors - and it's power drainage is only 70 milliWats!

Wow. Think about your average 40 watt light bulb. That chip draws a fraction (.07) of a single watt of power!

Sounds promising! Watt did you say? ;)

And yes, the energy efficiency is truly amazing, but we still need those super-batteries.
