In the US, algorithms are already reporting the news

Algorithms producing journalism? What might sound like a futuristic setting is already becoming reality.

Journalistic texts are characterised by a certain structure that algorithms can be programmed to imitate. The first tests still read or sound like early prototypes, but they're already around in sports journalism, with finance or local news to come next.

Very intresting article, unfortunatly my viewpoint is let the children worry about it.   Everyone will be going to school to learn how to use computers.
Didn't you have a bot, Tyler putting things on this website?

AFAIK, Tyler is still dutifully reporting robotic news. Many newcomers are often fooled into thinking that Tyler is a real person as they leave comments / responses for "her." ;)

The article is not really that new as there was a fairly popular human type bot that reported various new items and even injected her own humorous take on some of the more strange happenings around the world. This was many years ago and her name was Ananova. I think she's still at www.ananova.com but a lot of her abilities have been scaled back for whatever reasons.

Still nice article and it might be refreshing to see something or someone NON-BIASED actually reporting the news!! Gee...I thought reporters were originally supposed to be objective and to just report...not flavor it with their smirks, winks and opinions!

Robots 1 ...Humans 0
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

Yes Tyler is still posting.  I got her to notify us if anything get's uploaded too, though since Jack disappeared there hasn't been anything.

Unfortunately Ananova has been swallowed by Orange...

Ananova has merged with Orange but you can still get all of the same great content right here.

So another one bites the dust.  I've seen quite a few big names drop their chatbots, I wonder if they are becoming less popular with them.  Maybe the novelty has worn off.

I guess that means Robots 1... Humans 1... an early equaliser.  ;)
