Loebner Prize 2009
« on: August 25, 2009, 09:03:58 pm »
Yes folks it's nearly that time of year again. I can't quite believe it's come around again so quickly - it seems like five minutes since I was watching the Olympics, not to mention any thing else.

Anyway, this year it's on the 6th September 2009 in the good old UK in Brighton.  Yes it's here again, the last time they were here was when it was staged at Reading; so they moved along a bit.  No details yet on exactly where, but my guess is a college or something.  If I find out I will let you know, although I don't know if it will be open to visitors - is this the kind of thing you would want to spectate anyway ?

Other news is that the prize has increased from $2000 to a tasty $3000...

Gee Freddy, maybe we could send over a few of the winners from the TV game show, "Are you smarter than a 5th grader".
Wonder if they could fool the judges?! :D :D ;D :D :D

You should take Freddy and Mav and perhaps Dante if he's close by. Wow...just think...AI Dreams could be well represented at a world class event. OK...maybe not world class but at least a Chatbot Contest...How's that!!? ;)

If you recall...that's a mighty big pond we have between us. Think I'll pass this year. Fill me in on how it goes!

Lucky stiffs! :(

Not far from the beach eh?

This guy is in a small boat when his motor quits, leaving him stranded!

He sees this other bloke with two girls rowing lazily along in their rowboat.

So he yells over to the guy with the rowboat, "Ahoy!! Can I borrow one of your Oars?"

The guy in the rowboat sternly yells back, " 'em's not ORES mate...'em's me sisters!!"
 ;D :D ;D

Had to do it!! Still funny after all these years!!
