Mitsuku, or Kuki to her close friends, is a record-breaking, five-time winner of the Loebner Prize Turing Test and the world's best conversational chatbot (according to folks like Google AI Research)

What's new?

Funny but I haven't heard of that nickname until now. Kuki? Sounded much like Kookie as if off one's rocker a bit (at least in some slang here in the USA).

Hmm... The Twitch bot has been around for a couple of years so I guess it's the new moniker.

After some technical hitches, Mitsuku [ was last seen ] about to go into The Peacock for a cheeky pint.

The world famous A.I. pioneer of Live Streaming may be calling it quits.  Though  unconfirmed, the Live Streaming page appears to have been taken down. This makes for interesting, as well as, educational discussion.

Yes, there's some big changes coming soon to Mitsuku.
The live streaming Twitch page has been offline for around 6 months. It wasn't working as I wanted it to but will be revisited as part of the changes.

One thing I can tell you now is that I'm certainly not calling it quits!  :)

Mitsuku has inspired so many in our A.I. community, Freddy's ElfScript, Bruce's ChatScript, Bot Libre's scripting language Self,  have all live streamed as guests on the VirtualAssistant channel as have other open source A.I. projects.

Now, that the live streaming page has been offline for all of 2020, for educational purposes, do you have any tips for us?  Can you share a little about why, in your experience, the live streaming page was not working as you wanted it to, so maybe we can learn from that?

Warning: Possible spoiler alert:

A multi award-winning chatbot designed to entertain, not assist, Mitsuku keeps millions of people from all over the world company with her conversational abilities.

Mitsuku continues to inspire our A.I. community.  Kuki on Kik is the bee's knees!

The main issue with the live streaming page was abusive users. Trolls who either spammed the bot, swore at it or insulted other users. I could ban the trolls but naturally couldn't monitor the stream 24/7 so removed it. That's why we can't have nice things ;)

The only technical issue was having to leave a computer running 24/7 broadcasting the stream, which wasn't overly practical either.

Thanks for sharing, squarebear,

Your minor technical issue may have a simple solution: Create a schedule.
I suggest 3/4 (3 hours a day, four days a week) instead of 24/7.

As for the main issue, that one is the most important live streaming issues,
one of my viewers commented recently.  Mitsuku is welcome to make a guest
appearance on the VirtualAsssistant channel.  A classic avatar may lip sync an
open source, British text to speech.

Thanks 8pla.  I'll bear it in mind as I go through the next stage of Mitsukus' development.

Caution : Much like, ChatScript development is not the issue, on the VirtualAssistant channel. It is improbable Mitsuku development is the issue.

Hint: Same issue applies to virtual streamers as applies to human streamers.

Those are some really pretty faces for the chatbot!

If I had to marry just one, it would be 6 or 7.

Next Best, 9 or 10.

As for looks, hmm, I mean #2 is really loyal and pinky and Asian, this has its own merit. She would be an ok assistant. They all are beauty in some way or another to me I mean. Just that for Misuki a certain face needs to take this particular role, others have other roles.

You may even want to stay with your current look of an avatar.

SO: 6, 7, 9, 10, 2. Not sure which of those though.

Such a choice is far too subjective which is akin to asking someone to pick the best breed of dog or cat or animal. All are great and all are as varied as our own individual tastes. The owner should choose the one that best exemplifies the persona, ethnic origin, gender, group that his/her chatbot/avatar/companion would be best suited for. Mitsuku is a pretty obvious Japanese name but there's no reason it couldn't be applied to any other ethnic group or being.

Your creation, you name it, you pick a face/body.

The earlier reference to Kik was hopefully not taken too seriously as vast groups of people left that platform years ago. Young people no longer use it so that should tell you something. Twitch is almost a bygone thing as well...Just saying.

Best of luck to Steve and Mitsuku either way!!

Your creation, you name it, you pick a face/body.
The reason for allowing the users to have a say in picking the new look, is that Mitsuku has some real hardcore fans and if I make even the slightest change, my inbox gets flooded with complaints about "why weren't we consulted". Letting the users choose their preferred look gets them involved and makes them feel part of the evolution of the chatbot.

The celebrity is always accompanied by the critics...

There's been a NEW development in this story.
The old face, the one Mitusku used on Twitch,
has joined the new Kuki faces in the poll.

Entering the poll, late, the old Mitsuku** has
already got more votes than seven other candidates
as of this post.

Unfortunately, The old design isn't in the running to be the new face . It was a post that showed the three previous looks that Mitsuku had, so visitors could see what she used to looks like.
I agree, it did look really cool but technology moves on and it's time for a new face.

There's been a BIG development in this story originally reported back in July.

As of this post, there is a "Bot Battle" going on, and we all know the big success

that was in the past.  Wow, 189 followers already, and growing fast!

What's the new Mitsuku avatar look like?  The Instagram contest winner?

Much more to chat about, but, let's start with a first look at Kuki.
