Satnav users risk losing their natural navigational skills, expert warns

People who rely on satnav could be at risk of losing their ability to navigate, an expert has warned. Writing in the journal Nature, former president of the Royal Institute of Navigation Roger McKinlay argues that our reliance on GPS technology is misplaced and could be eroding our innate way-finding abilities.

A lot of things could be considered as having the same effect. One article I read said that our brain was actually smaller then our ancestors 20,000 years ago. So is our technology really the result of being smarter or are we subconsciously trying to adapt to a process that is making them smaller. Scientists suggest that our brains could keep on shrinking in the future.

Yeah...you're right...the Vikings, celts, druids...one hardly sees them around anymore.

Same with those savvy pyramid builders ...Egyptians, Aztecs, Mayans, Incans and others.
