And the somewhat odd thing in the USA is that there are still LOTS of people in some states who are incarcerated for POT (possession with intent to distribute / possession / purchasing / smoking, etc.), and yet in some other states, people are smoking it openly on the streets. Quite the disparity don't you think?

One main reason it remained illegal for so many years was that the government was unable to TAX it! Now they collect it and collect taxes from its sale. What a country!
