Pilots must warn the public about drone flights, says ICO privacy advice

Drone pilots must respect people's privacy when flying, the Information Commissioner's office (ICO) has said, issuing new guidance on the operation of the unmanned aerial vehicles. Pilots should let people know before they start to record them, should plan their flight in advance and not let their drone out of sight - both to ensure they don't lose it, and to reassure members of the public that they are the one responsible for the vehicle. In the USA, if one is in a public area such as a playground or park, then there is no expectation of privacy and therefore any pictures / photos can be taken.

If the drone is invading the airspace say, over a person's house / estate / swimming pool, patio, etc., then that would clearly be an invasion of that person's expected measure of privacy.
