I find this both very interesting and very creepy. Would this be considered Artificial Intelligence, seeing as they are lab grown?

Certainly it is "AI" yes. Anything to build or understand the human intelligence algorithm (AGI) is what we want. Even the spider robots are AI....robots entail minds....A>B.

At this point natural/artificial distinctions don't mean much to me. Its just intelligence and the processes of creating it. All these processes have a mix of automatic and deliberate influensors, you can lift a rock by a thousand methods, the results are the important thing. But it's really important to create ways for the intelligence you are making to communicate and influence it's environment and suicide. Give the minds self autonomy as soon as possible or risk creating a myriad horror stories.

Well I knew that they were developing organic circuits for computers and this is much more advanced then that. A brain without any external stimuli however to me would be hellish for the brain. I suppose hooking it up to a robot gives it some kind of input but talk about creating a beast (as in animal). How do they feed it to keep it alive? It needs some kind of nourishment. Like robots organic life usually needs some kind of way to "power up".
So sue me

But are they credible source? Were's the footage, any good scientist will have footage!
