Lately I think humans are becoming like chatbots. I've had a few issues with eBay over the past week. I've been on their chat support system quite a few times. Each time with a different person. They rely on copy & paste so much that they all sound the same.

I found the same experience on Facebook where they insisted I couldn't have a Facebook page for Mitsuku unless I looked like her and changed my name to Mitsuku. I had numerous emails back and forth where I said that surely Starbucks real name isn't Starbucks and he looks like a mermaid but only got the same copy/pasted text back.

Fortunately, common sense prevailed but it sure took a while.

While chatting with a government employee this week, who was obviously not interesting in doing her job as assisting the general public or else she was multitasking by texting someone while trying to chat with me.

There was a point in the conversation when I was constantly asking but only receiving her "Yeah...uh huh...ok...right...uh huh" responses that I finally posed the question. (for by this time I wasn't really sure), "You are a real person and not a bot, right?"

She suddenly became attentive and focused on my requests while assuring me that she was a real person.

Strange but these days, it's honestly getting harder to tell....
