Robotic scientist performs research round the clock.

This one seems like quite a leap forward. It's an independent robotic laboratory assistant that can work round the clock (except for three hours a day to recharge its batteries) performing experiments. According to the narrative, its artificial intelligence is even capable of making decisions about how to proceed based on the results of experiments that it performs.

Remember that intelligence isn't a superpower. Any artificial intelligence is still going to be bound (by the laws of physics and mathematics) to the pace of the real world so experiments that took a long time before will still take a long time in the future. Nevertheless, a scientist that doesn't get sick or have to rest will ultimately be more productive and will be able to maintain the pace of research and discovery, even in the face of ever increasing complexity.

The BBC website linked above has lots of other good videos about recent developments in robotics too so it's definitely worth checking out.

Nope. Future androids will be able to move their bodies faster and think faster, skip needing to test in the real world, or test at all! If I know an anvil is heavy and crushes toes, and a car is heavy, then a car will probably be able to crush toes. And that predictive ability can be improved too. Anybody watching history and today's fast paced AI knows our progress is about to move super fast.

Lock,

I think he's referring to the physical properties of the associated materials (chemicals, reagents, biological properties, etc).
The majority of these are bound by the laws of science and no AI is going to speed up the combinations or reactions of them.

The AI will obviously be able to think and move faster in some respects but there are simply some things that will still require the same amount of time to process.
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

Natural chemical reactions/ cells etc are like natural brains.....there's always another way to do the same thing but faster! :)

Now let's just put that robotic arm or two onto this baby: Walking Wheels

Now my dreams of Rosie(Jetsons) can come true and I bet she or it could clean up the dog poop in the backyard as well!  O0
