Ai Research launch new site
« on: August 10, 2010, 02:32:40 pm »
The people at AI Research have launched a new commercial site.  They are selling a couple of iPhone apps including one based on Hal, imaginatively called iHal.

Check it out here : http://www.language-machines.com/

Yes, I also noticed that 3 out of 3 reviewers thought the pricing was too high for an iPhone app and the fact that it required an Internet / wifi connection.

Hmmm...having a conversation via your smart phone and it's not a person...it's the phone!!  :o :D
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

Yes, spotted that.  I don't have an iPhone or similar device, so don't know the average price for apps.  I would have thought the internet connection might be expensive too, not sure.

I also do not own iPhone or any expensive toy like that, but I know enough people here at work that do.   I will have to ask if anyone has tried this.    I certainly would like to assess its level of NLP.

Victor, you can probably get a good idea of how well developed the NLP is by talking to Alan on their site.  I've always been very impressed by Alan over the past few years, sometimes he is very convincing.  Here's a link :

Also there is a Hal there, which I can only assume is connected to, and probably what inspired iHal.

And all that is for free.
