Nice to see that the UK is becoming interested in something other than
their own intelligence! :rofl

They point out that there appear to be similarities between the way computers
process information and the human brain with it's neurons. Hmmm...ya think?

Good find Marius!

Nice find, although to be fair that is from 2002.  I wonder why our gov decided to launch something like that when we have been doing it for years anyway - Edinburgh University since the early 60's, for example.  And maybe they forgot about Alan Turing !??  Then again maybe I am just being mean because it's hot and humid.

Back in the late 1980's, when I was doing computer science at university, we had AI courses available, although I never met anyone that took the option - I reckon they were just sneaking round the back to watch 2001 - the same people that probably petitioned the UK Gov into action after the 'anniversary' of the film the previous year...hmmm thats probably the truth there....

Nice one Tony, kinda, good to inject some pace :)

Just like with the Internet. It was just fine while it was in the hands of the masses. As soon as the government gets their grubby little hands on it it gets all mucked up!! It doesn't matter which government...government here is as corrupt as government there or anywhere else.

They pay rediculously high prices for items, materials and work then bitch about the high cost of goods and services!!
It was their stupid contract administrators who developed and awarded those contracts for bid in the first place!!

Don't get me started!! Oops...too late! :knuppel2
