Universal artificial intelligence was developed more than a decade ago by Marcus Hutter and his research assistants. It's called AIXI and it subsumes every kind of AI you have ever imagined. I'm posting this in news though because it doesn't seem to have been discussed on this board before, even though the solution and proof are well known in academic circles.
If it's the real thing you may wonder why you haven't heard of it before. The software is simple enough and can be implemented in around 50 lines of code (or written down in one line of mathematics). The problem is that it takes an infinite amount of computer power to run. There is a lot of effort being put into finding a tractable approximation for the algorithm because after all, the benefits would be incalculable. Except by the resulting AI.

I knew everything on that page... it sounds like Reinforced AI.
Explain this magical gold nugget of wonder please.......sounds too good to be true. Need infinite computational power why why why???
And are they that smart with a picture like this on their site? It looks like the KKK dude.... http://www.hutter1.net/official/press.htm#uaibook

btw I know what the universal PL is no matter where you go and no matter what civilization emerges. Do you?

also i know the universal language not just PL

Well he is offering $100 for various bits of help there .... obviously he has not created it yet; Its his model for AI and he is looking for workers to build it(paid) $100 per function

Please read it more carefully. The algorithm is easy to implement and you can download the source code from https://github.com/moridinamael/mc-aixi and try it out for yourself. The problem is that the algorithm runs in combinatorial time (it is NP complete). Problems beyond a certain small size require an impossibly large amount of computer time to process. What they are trying to do is find heuristics that can find good answers in a reasonable time, even if they are not perfect.

Dude you're saying it can do anything as can AGI just it needs more computational power.........I doubt they have the AGI algorithm....
Computational power can brute force the AGI algorithm though.

I know I said when I began that all you needs is rewards and the robot will learn to go to food, build houses, etc.....but I'm pretty sure there's loooots of mechanics in the brain also needed, like sequence completion, weight and attention systems, etc. And some secret imperial sauce.

maybe he means what i was talking about - brute force / Levin Search - http://people.idsia.ch/~juergen/mljssalevin/node4.html
