                    Conversations are one of the most important and difficult tasks that artificial intelligence has to undertake. As such, the robots have tended to work only in either very restricted situations -- such as customer support when booking an airline ticket -- or by giving canned replies in response to specific questions.

That's odd...I wasn't aware that Google now owns the iCub series of open source robots, yet one is pictured with the article. Hmm...

It is remarkable how many articles about software go accompanied by images of robots that have nothing to do with it (and are typically used without permission). It's hard to illustrate something as non-graphical as artificial intelligence though.

Lol @ "super-intelligent". I read about this earlier and we should be just as amazed about this experiment as we should be about Cleverbot. It's good for the curiosity factor but that's as far as it goes.
