.NET is going Open Source
« on: January 06, 2015, 08:04:07 am »
I didn't know if any one has heard about this, but I think it might have been first announced in 2012. I just now discovered this. It's about time!!! What this means for me is that I can keep programming in VB and soon Athena will work on any platform available. This is awesome!!  :D There's probably a post somewhere here about this... :P

I think I did see this, but I did not know much of the details. I use Visual Express a fair bit, mainly C# at the moment.

So yes, good news, thanks for that :)

I'm not sure what this really means ....
But ..
When you use the enterprise version or ultimate visual studio it just asks you to add your git hub or codeplex details and stores your code online up to you if you use a public folder .... Useful for sharing but when you're highly connected to the internet ...
Secret projects can become shadowed online .....
Good / not good ....
Useful when you want to share a project but it's an annoying feature .... It wants to save every project online ....
