Thanks for the link, GCC. I will try it. It's strange because I have no scroll bar with 616. Please don't laugh at me, I use Internet Explorer 8 with XP and a 1024x768 monitor. Could you please take a look here:

I reduced the last pics to 640x480 but I can display a little larger image without any scroll bar for me. Thanks in advance, and thanks again for testing. :)

I'm using this computer with a 26 inch lcd tv, the resolution is 980 x 768.  scroll bars at the side and bottom.  I remember adjusting the resolution again after some change.  The other computer has a 22 in monitor, 1280 x 980, no scroll bar at the bottom.

I'm on 1280x800 myself, but back when I designed sites, width was typically based on percentages rather than fixed values so that I didn't have to worry about different resolutions.

Then again, I wasn't exactly a professional web designer.

You're right TheMikh28, it's a very smart solution. 8)

I guess Freddy will be happy to rewrite the html of the forum (if he has nothing else to do), for the 4 or 5 people who post images here. ;)

Looks like I should have kept my mouth shut ;)

It was percentage based previously but I changed it to fixed width as some times I need a page to look a certain way and you can't do that with fluid pages that stretch all over the place.

What I will do is offer both options - a fixed width where everything lines up nicely and a widescreen option where people will have to accept whatever gets sent to them lol

Thanks for all the comments, it's amazing what one small change can cause  :D
