So far so good, I've had no more reports about the forum software not working on the new server. It's possible that the password problems that a few of us had were linked to the IPv6 problems too.

We got approval to have our own mail server and I expect to finish setting it up today. I'll have to go carefully so it doesn't accidentally send out hundreds of bogus emails when I hook it up to the forum, so I apologize in advance if something like that happens, but I'll do my best to avoid it.

The new server is all set up. The next step will be to make it the authoritative name server and once that process is complete, we will be ready to lock the old forum server, transfer the database, and then point the new name server at the new IP address. If that goes well it should only take a few minutes and you might not even notice the change. It can be hard to say how it will go when changes to name servers are involved because the information can take anything from a few minutes to a few days to propagate across the internet.

In the meantime, mail processing should be working on the new server at the temporary domain name of https://charidge.com. If you do something on the new server that would normally send you an email, you should get one from it from now on.

Hi folks :)

Infurl is now an administrator - I think we will co-admin things until he feels comfortable, so you ain't rid of me yet  ;)

I will still pop in sometimes as I plan to continue to develop my ElfScript engine for text games.

Take care all :)

Good news everyone!

We changed over to the new server a few days ago and everything seems to be running fine so far. I've still got a lot to learn about the forum software but I'll try to keep on top of things.  :)

If you didn't notice anything different, I'll take that as a good sign.  ;D

Awesome!

I seem to be missing a few coins on my profile rank <

About 5 or 7.

Also somehow my title switched from Admin to Trusty Member.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll look into it in a bit. Out of curiosity, did that work before?

It ought to work now, I changed the access privileges on the attachments directory.

Hi infurl

I just found a dead link on the footer: Terms of Service

The link points to: http://aidreams.co.uk/forum/index.php?page=AiDreams_-_Terms_Of_Service_TOS
