Moving background
« on: October 20, 2008, 03:51:22 pm »

The stuff with Madonna was just a pretext to experiment with a "moving" background. I guess Nige was the first one using this method in some of his singing haptars. Seems to be the only possible one: no gif anim allowed and, of course, no movie.

I made a zip with the hap and 10 pics extracted from "Hung Up" (sorry, low quality). You only have to drag an drop the hap in your Haptek player (it works on my computer, lol, if not on yours, maybe it's a question of path).

(You know what? Afraid this post looks very serious  ;D)

Clever stuff, I tried something similar when I was trying to build an application for animation in Haptek.  I managed to get it showing a short video using the same method.  Basically I stripped an mpeg movie down into individual frames and then loaded each frame in seperately.  Probably used up a lot of power I am not sure.

Another interesting thing you can do is apply the frames to on object like you would a texture.  It is possible to have, say,  a simple square model floating around the screen whilst also showing video.  Of course you could do that with any model, so you could have a figure with animated clothes too.
