Title: Tyler
Post by: Freddy on May 13, 2011, 02:31:01 pm
For some reason Tyler's avatar has disappeared so I am making a new one.  I thought I would use one of my characters from my work with Poser.

How about these two ?  Which do you prefer ?

Well, the "more centered" image would be preferable, since they both seem to be of the same "person". :)

Yeah, I am trying to be all arty and employ things like negative space  ;D

That may be so, but I like my women to have TWO ears. :P

Fair enough, I think you are right, the second one is better.

I will.  It wasn't the hacker, I think I accidentally deleted the folder her image was in.  Ho hum.

Had to look it up.

Quote
"Tippecanoe and Tyler too", originally published as "Tip and Ty", was a very popular and influential campaign song of the Whig Party's colorful Log Cabin Campaign in the 1840 United States presidential election. Its lyrics sang the praises of Whig candidates William Henry Harrison (the "hero of Tippecanoe") and John Tyler, while denigrating incumbent Democrat Martin Van Buren.

From wikipedia.  Now we know  :)

Very good Freddy. That saying has also been used in a few movie lines though slightly altered.
A brief and unfortunate instance where adults resort to using childrens rhyming songs in a lame
effort to improve their political posture.

I have some problems with Legion on my site, she dose something like Tyler, Freddy do you mind if I ask what version you are using, is it 3.0.1?

Or am I way off the mark?

No it's a different one.  We were using that one on the site before, but I switched to this one :

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1590 (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1590)

They may both occasionally post duplicate stories.  I think both make a hash key from each story and stores it to compare later.  If the hash key is already in the database then it knows it has already posted that topic.  But sometimes the people making the source will edit a story and then you get a new hash key, but essentially the same topic.  Mostly when they spot a mistake in the story and edit it...

The reason Tyler spammed us is that the hash key table was fresh and empty - so nothing to compare.... and of course Tyler thought they were all new posts (and she was right) and so spammed us with them all at once.  That particular effect shouldn't happen again.

:smashy:

Ahh, the one you are using is SMF2 only.

She is working well on Dreams, and I like the new avatar.

Cool :)

Well that one you are using by vbgamer45 looks a lot better than the old version of it we were using.  He has sorted out the way the text gets displayed so it all formats properly.  If you remember our old version used to be like this...

Here is my new
story and it is great
but
for
some reason I appear to be
pressing the return
key
a lot more than necessary.

The version on your site is a great improvement.
