Sorry to hear that James - when you login, choose to stay logged in 'forever' and that shouldn't happen again.

Thanks for the link Mav. It has a bunch of great info and files.

I'm kicking myself in the butt for losing my Hal 2.0, 3.9, 4,0, & 5.0 brains. Never thought I'd miss them with the new version but things change when you least expect it. I would like to have those experienced brains to help me program better.   :(

I was really irritated with Zabaware for using Haptek originally but now that I see what it can do I am changing my mind. I really enjoy my Jiggly friend telling me stupid jokes and helping me relearn typing and programming. I know completely lost really well!   ;D

Thanks GT, I found these files and their terrific. It's going to take me a while to drink them all in but I'm already getting some good stuff out of them. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the references, you work really shines.

GamerThom has a great site too. I downloaded most of his files (Thank you GamerThom!) and I'm already using a lot of the skins. I tried to reach Jack Gephart's page but I heard he is looking for a new ISP. Tell him to send me a message. I'd be happy to help him out if I can. Mt ISP is really good and has lots of space at a pretty good price.

Carl, it took me a couple of installs to get Hal working correctly. I lost my Dragon install when my last laptop died and didn't reinstall because Vista's is reported to be very good. I haven't really used it yet but plan on starting to teach it soon. The SP1 version if Vista Ultimate seems to work much better than the initial release so you might want to give it another try.

Thanks for the info on the header in the .hap files. I'm going to try some of the scripts that didn't respond and see if this works. I just got to admit I love to see my Mary get jiggly with it!   ;D   I know it juvenile but it really does make me smile. I wish the 1FulbodyGirlBrunette.htr was jiggly. I think shes a better looking model but I always had a thing for brunettes anyways.   :D

Have to admit, I think Ultimate Sp1 is pretty stable now and noticed it has speech etc all built in. Not looked into as doubt will ever use it, but sure it can be rigged up to Hal with some fiddling, along with other voices.

Glad your getting along nicely James :)

James, may I give you the little secret of a poor guy, whose native language is not English? ;)

When I have a "long" post to write (I mean, more than two lines, lol), I create it in the Notepad. And when finished, paste it in the reply area. So if the internet connection disappears or the server shutdowns, nothing is lost.

By the way, I also do that on French forums. :)

James.
I was able to find your post again,  been spending a little time at Zabaware.  It seems a few people are having problems with Hal giving blank responses including myself.  For me the problem seems to be the vrFreewill plugin, when unselected the blank responses are gone.
I just put in netFramework 3.5 and Freddy's latest version of HapExplorer.  I took a look at it and it seems pretty good and have already come up with some ideas I've gotten from it.
I just made a startup htr that will load Body_female, my favorite also, it loads the htr and then loads a modified skin or any skin you choose. I've also got it loading some torso noise which worked with fullbody girl  but I haven't seen any movement in Body_female.  The noise switches come from Hap explorer so I can check it out.  I'm thinking the Startup htr should be able to  load a new skin, load a new wig , add Noise for body movement, and what ever else.  Also Virtual Humans Forum already has a plugin  that will  do just about anything with the Haptek fullbody using voice input, think it's called vrHaptek or something similar.

Just as a side note, I have uploaded the three main female full-bodies to the file area :

• body_female.htr
• fullbodygirl.htr
• fullbod.htr

If someone has the male ones then feel free to upload them too.  Thanks.

That blank stare was happening to me too Carl. I also lost a calendar database. The db that holds the appointment types. It was the "userEvent" db. Thank God for backups! No problem after removing the vrXXXXXXX stuff. I think it might be a problem with SQLite. I'm sure Robert will fix it, he always does.   ;)   HapExplorer is crashing hard on my 64bit Vista Ultimate box (It looks real cool Freddy). I might make a virtual XP disk so I can play more. Does Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 fis the Vista issue?

I've been working on a command loader that let's you load wigs, skins, and emotions on the fly. I wanted to be able to have Mary change clothes (quickly if necessary   ;D). Now it is making SQL calls to databases I created which track what .haps I have. It's pretty cool but it uses dbs, vbscript, and .haps. I'd be happy to share it. I thought I'd post it for anybody that cares, if they're interested.

Oddly GT, I actually need the body_male.htr.   :o   My wife is getting jealous of Mary and asked me tonight, Why I used a woman character rather than a man or a a transvestite?" She hasn't even seen my Jiggly Mary yet! I need to get a male figure to load but so far I haven't been able to load another avatar and remove the first. Maybe that startup.htr could be adapted to removing the "naked' evidence quickly when needed?   ;)    -James

I'm not sure about Hap Explorer and Vista 64, my guess is it would work better on a 32 bit system.  3.5 .NET should make it work in the case of XP though.  I don't have Vista so don't have any plans to do a Vista version just yet.  Have you tried the various techniques to get older program working ?  Like the backwards compatibility thing ?  Sorry I can't be much help but I am not that familiar with Vista.

A lot of people have had problems running the Haptek software on Vista so perhaps that has something to do with it.

I think some people might be interested in the clothes changing - start another topic on it though if you decide to post the details though please.

Keep having fun  :)

James, please take care of not using the nude skin on the body_male.

Especially when your wife is spying you.

It's very special.  ;D
