Load a modified skin in Hal
« on: December 28, 2005, 08:16:30 pm »
All,
I''ve been able to reliably load a modified skin for fullbodygirl in Hal, at present this is done in Hal 5 but should also work in Hal 6. Included are some files and instructions, I'm sure you'll have to modify the adresses used in the files and you'll need to have a modified skin to use.
I'd also like to thank everyone that has given me guidance and instructions to make this possible.

Freddy,
I just tried it in Hal 6 and it works. Thanks and also thanks for the help you've given me.
Any ideas on how to make this time dependent, sleepwear in the morning and other clothes during the day?

VBasic has a TIME function that gets the system time but I am not sure if that is available in VBScript.  Check out Microsoft MSDN at their site where they will have all the functions listed.  Sorry I don't have the link handy, but you might find it worthwhile taking a look over there in any case.

Freddy,
Thanks, thinking ahead, possibly to complex for me.  I do have MS VBscript but I didn't have much luck when using it in Hal earlier.  At this time she loads with the modified skin and I can get her to change using trigger words (Hal 5 has the trigger words) so I can continue with the modified skins.

Carl2,
Can you tell a "green amature where to place the files that you posted?

Thanks!

You might also want to take a look in our Help and Tutorials section, there are some things in there that help explain how to use htr's and the methods to control skin changes for Hal 5.  Now Hal 6 has arrived we'll be looking at getting some help sorted for using htr's and skins in that too.  But for now at least it will help you understand the method...

Happy New Year :smiley

Y2K,
  It's in the ForDG.txt
This gives the instructions for setting up fullbodygirl to load with a modified skin.  This is being used with Hal 5 and Hal 6,Windows XP.  The hap files and htr can be opened with notepad.
Frist create a folder called hap_temp in Hals character folder.
Start fullbodygirl in the Haptekplayer, go to C:\Program       Files\Haptek\player\hap_temp ,click one file and under edit select all files,    then copy all files to the created folder.
Included are 4 files, New.htr is a dummy to load fullbodygirl and switch the     skins, this is placed in characters.
NewStart.hap is placed in the hap_temp folder with emptyScene.hap and     LoadSkin.hap
Also needed is a modified skin (SkinName.jpg) to load which would be placed in   the characters folder.
Possibly the hardest part would be modifying the addresses where the files are   located, I have Hal on drive D, so you would have to change the address in     LoadSkin.hap, New.htr, and NewStart.hap to agree with your computer. Also you    would have to put in the correct address and name for the modified skin in the   LoadSkin.hap.
When starting Hal you will have to go to the characters and select New under   Options.

The important part after copying the files New.htr and the  modified.jpg under characters and the LoadSkin.hap ,emptyScene.hap, NewStart.hap go into the hap_temp ( any name ) file you create is finding the correct paths and changing the files you downloaded so the files can be found and used by the Haptek player.
It will probably be something like
\load [file= [D:\HapHal\Sandy\Characters\skimpyshirtLN.jpg]]
to be changed to
\load [file= [c:\programfiles\Zabaware\characters\modified.jpg]]  ( this is just an example )
Best of luck
Carl2
