Ai automation in the workforce...
« on: November 07, 2012, 10:30:59 am »
My next argumentative essay is in the works. I'm going to take the side of being for the automation of low level skilled jobs.

Repost of what I put on the AI forum.....think it just seems to branch out a bit beyond just AI.

Can machines replace a large percentage of workers? There are many projects that show that they can. With fast food, automation can replace a large majority of workers. With customer service, already people are using outsourced people to use cut and paste messages to speak to the majority of customers online. To find it true, you only have to use the customer service. I've done it, and complained. For most warehouse jobs, an XBOX Kinect with two arms, wheels, and a place to plop things can do much.

American businessman talk about bringing the promise of manufacturing back to America, but it is only through the promise of bringing American machines to replace the 100,000 Chinese workers.

There are some things online that would compare automation to the Industrial Revolution. That as before 40% of Americans worked with farms to being about %2 now. That an "Automative Revolution" would incur a similar amount of change.

Any of you guys ever have thoughts on this idea? I bet you have. Right on.

Thoughts... yes...putting it in words at the moment... no.  But I have a couple of links for you that may be of interest.

To do with the fight against this kind of thing in the past.
