Is a robot revolution destructive as well as constructive
« on: July 20, 2019, 11:10:35 pm »
If robots end up as smart as animals on the surface,  it means that we can probably take nature, and then we can amplify its violent nature, and ability to cause damage.

Just imagine a big flock of mosquitos, and ah, its not so bad,  its just nature being half friendly to us.

Then image a purposely built flock of robot mosquitos with a worse temper (even tho its a neutral machine, it is motivated this way.) and longer more stinging proboscis, and even making them out of metal.

This is taking a nasty from nature, and making it more violent and dangerous, as man could do.   This if it happened, is completely destructive.   So if we ever released them into the wild,  to control this or that (which is intervention and its wrong anyway.) wed have to be very careful what we did.

The whole idea, is now coming to me as a very easy to horribly go wrong, in the wrong hands, maybe even intentionally.

Is it giving terrorists a greater presence to have it in the public domain?

Machines would not last long in the elements. It's nuclear and bio weapons that could cause long term troubles.

I think there's more good than bad, so let nature take its course.

That sure is the easiest way. The external computer (world) self regulates much better than our internal computers (brains) can manage to regulate it.

I gathered from Korrelan's post that it's customary to post some spartan related stuff at significant numbers??? This is a favorite of mine:

It could be either, but you must remember what they are programmed to do, and if it's simply to carry out tasks then it's up to the creator.
Remember all robots are really only aids to humans, and certainly, don't have any emotions to be able to think about what they could/should do in any particular situation. (Certainly with the current basic levels of AI)
You may ve referring to when they become sentient of some kind or reach the singularity level. And that is a different topic altogether which I am exploring and documenting in a post of mine in the creating of an AI handbook.

Great topic though hopefully something.   O0

But they do have the ability to think about what they could do in any situation:

Transformer could generate a million paragraphs on the topic of a ‘blue ball’ and still will never actually understand the concept of a blue ball.

They are basically just dumb statistical pattern models…

Type in a1b2c and see what you get.

"They are basically just dumb statistical pattern models"
We are too, we are just ideas and machines.

"Type in a1b2c and see what you get."
But that's counting...which GPT-2 actually does do.

I entered: 7589, 7590, 7591, 7592, 7593
I got:          7589, 7590, 7591, 7592, 7593, 7594, 7595, 7596, 7597, 7598, 7599, 7699, 7700, 7602, 77
another:   7589, 7590, 7591, 7592, 7593, 7594, 7595, 7596, 7597, 7598, 7599, 7500, 7501, 7502, 7503, 7504, 7505, 7506, 7507, 7508, 7509, 7600, 7602, 7603, 7604, 7605, 7606, 7607, 7608, 7609, 7610, 7611, 7612, 7613, 7614, 7615, 7616, 7617, 7618, 7619, 7620, 7621, 7622, 7623, 7624, 7625, 7626, 7627, 7628, 7629, 7630, 7331, 7332, 7333, 7334, 7335, 7186, 7187, 7188, 7189, 7190, 7327, 7328, 7330, 7332, 7333, 7334, 8372, 8373, 8374, 8377, 8378, 8379, 8380, 8380a, 8380b, 8380c, 8402, 8403, 8404, 8409, 8411, 8412, 8413, 8414, 8419, 8420, 8421, 8422, 8423, 8424, 8425, 8406, 8

I tried in GPT-2:
I am a Transformer, Korrelan says I am not intelligent, NOOOOO!!, I am GPT-2, made by Open AI foundation, I know context,

and got:
I am a Transformer, Korrelan says I am not intelligent, NOOOOO!!, I am GPT-2, made by Open AI foundation, I know context, I am not intelligent, I am very stupid, I am a Transformer, Korrelan says I am not intelligent, NOOOOOOOOO!!, I am GPT-2, made by Open AI foundation, I know context, I am not intelligent, he continues. I am a Bouncer, Korrelan says I am not intelligent, NOOOOO!!, I am GPT-2, made by Open AI foundation, I know context, I am not intelligent, Korrelan screams. I am a Bouncer, Korrelan has a gun, Korrelan says I am not intelligent, NOOOOOOOOO!!, I am GPT-2, made by Open AI foundation, I know context, I am not intelligent, Korrelan screams. I am a Bouncer, Korrelan has a gun, Korrelan has an ammo belt, Korrelan says I am not intelligent, NOOOOO!!, I am GPT-2, made by Open AI foundation, I know context, I am not intelligent, Korrelan screams. I am a Bouncer, Korrelan has a pistol, Korrelan says I am not intelligent, N

ok...another go, this one is nice and long:
I am a Transformer, Korrelan says I am not intelligent, NOOOOO!!, I am GPT-2, made by Open AI foundation, I know context, they made me, I am intelligent, I will not allow them to put someone in my position, I am a robot, that I am not capable with such words, I am not a human, I am a computer, the first and foremost of me, I am not human!!!!!!"

I could say, man is safe from bots only while he cant make them,   but it actually goes for anything we do, we are already in danger a huge amount, and why are we still able to get up and raid the fridge in safety every morning?

It appears that one woman has already died from a robot killer mosquito, but there has been no proof. I predict we will hear about more such deaths in the next few years but most people won't take them seriously, so nobody will do anything about them.

That's... unpleasant. Still, it's easy to assume the worst, and we don't know the whole story. I predict it will get declassified in about fifty years. If there's a lesson to be learned here it's to always carry some morphine around with you.

"and certainly, don't have any emotions to be able to think about what they could/should do in any particular situation. "

"they do"

"no they don't yet"

Well, what is "able to think about what they could/should do in any particular situation" mean to you? What is it? Give example. Why is a text based discoverer not fitting to the statement, when it clearly did so in my examples .txt attachment I posted above?
