This looks like a interesting project.
Quoting from the home page...
The objective of the MECA SAPIENS project is to produce a realistic and programmable blueprint to build a conscious machine....
....The MECA SAPIENS blueprint is based on a definition of consciousness that is sufficiently general yet suitable for machine implementation and a definition of intelligence that corresponds; a world first.

I would read the articles, but reading them requires registration, which requires a name. I'm not going to give my full name to a potential competitor.

The idea sounds great but I'm always skeptic about such projects. We don't even know what human consciousness really is and how our knowledge, memories, emotions are really stored, processed and so on. Of course there are many models but most of them are hypothetical. This guy Jean Tardy, is he doing it alone? I haven't seen anyone else writing articles on Meca Sapiens page. And damn, this hole stuff looks almost like a new religion for him. For this moment project has interesting goal, history of approach to design and build conscious machines and of course donation page.
BTW Irh9: why you don't want to register there with your name? What's bad about it? You can still sign there with Steven Spielberg name or someone else ;-)

That'd be lying, mad5.

There's no law against using your real name and no law against reading someone else's conceptual ideas or their work. Unless their work is proprietary (which it doesn't appear to be or you wouldn't be allowed to read it) there is nothing illegal nor harmful about reading the article.
Large companies spy when there are millions to be made. Your situation doesn't seem to fall into this category, IMHO.
Do you really think Steve Jobs didn't know Bill Gates' name?
