Significant advances towards AGI
« on: June 10, 2018, 11:37:23 pm »
Although people are fond of arguing about the true nature of intelligence and how to go about achieving it, such debates are a bit behind the times because that is a solved problem now. Instead we should be worrying about how to speed up the necessary algorithms so that it becomes practical to use them, and that is what this lecture is all about. While universal general intelligence is an intractable problem, significant advances have been made towards the realisation of useful approximations, as presented here.

Oh wow very nice. I went to their website and found myself with a smile and strong connection. They have the exact same objective as me, AGI - to end suffering/death and flourish pleasure and immortality. They seem to know not only our future/objective, but also how to do it (AGI). Pretty good. And, these groups are somewhat close to the AGI architecture I'll add. Infurl/korrelan are too :) !

Read it here:

Amazing.

It's one thing to be an atheist, it's another to know/want the future solving immortality/utopia, it's another to know AGI is the only key you need, and another to know the AGI architecture. Not everyone is all of these.

I just tends to end up that way,    theres plenty of ways to wire up a robot body, but they are all essentially doing the same thing.

Same goes for the brain,  yes, its symbolic ai, as well as being a pattern matching thing...  they all assimilate. (record) they have similar issues when it comes to supervising their classification categories,   they have problems in the same way.   Making the best out of what knowledge is inside your robots brain, is the end result of hill climbing, even tho theres plenty of ways to go about it.

its just all the same, after some superficial differences of technique.  :)

Why AGI unlocks all you ask?

Because books and brilliant solos all say the same thing, they understand that they'll have more memory, faster minds/bodies.....the list is really really long, I personally have written over a hundred of their amazing capabilities.

Cryonics, superconductors.....none of those will do such big change nor so fast. It is true that computer speed is a big help btw (brute force AGI, brute force for AGI thinking, physics simulated robot AGI arm).

Or do you mean, 1 way to make AGI?.....i don't see everyone saying the same way, where do you see that? I do notice a trend in the RDBMS symbol thing, but then there is gaps I see and slightly possibly off course ideas that're missing the line.

They don’t… I hope… otherwise AI researchers would be negating the ‘general’ bit of our own general intelligence.

As Ranch and Lock said…

Common sense will lead most researchers to draw similar parallels in their theories, compression, hierarchal structures, etc.  And we all seem to have a similar ‘mission statement’… solve disease, save humanity, etc

Occams approach is completely different from mine, and they still seem to be at the design stages, they have a working theory but no implementation yet.  From reading their blog it seems they haven’t even decided/ designed a compatible compression algorithm or figured out how to implement biased hierarchical searches.

Cool project though.
