To start we will need to monitor them so they can supplement our processes.
Then and only then they will generally take the menial jobs leaving us to focus on more technical roles. Thus ironically doing a 360 on the idea itself.

The way we crush bugs horrifies me. We left the monkeys behind. We test cigs on them. What will our overlord superorganisms do to us? Recycle us? Maybe... Our civilized cheering is nice but what goes on is still creepy. Been a bad ride to get you here with 4 limbs.

My opinion is robots won't take your jobs, they do some jobs and create jobs for those to manage them. 8)

Only if they are self aware and more skilled than humans. If they are strictly robots then we don't have to pay them. We could keep the economy running by distributing their wages among our population. A pleasant idea which seems to technically have nothing wrong with it, but we'll have to try it to find out. It would be especially useful in situations like this when we biologicals can't go outside. If they were true AGI and had to pay their electricity bill we might be able to figure out some jobs for them, possibly things hazardous to humans, like space exploration or shopping.

Until they get smart enough how to avoid such hazardous traps HS! They can't all be suicider bots. Most won't. But some may at first.

Space exploration might be less hazardous to AGI than staying on earth, we will be bound to have extremist groups gunning for them here. We could still be in charge of jobs involving electromagnets. It's probably smart to cooperate with humans.

I don't think the robots would be paid as they would have no need for currency. The robot's employer would have paid out quite a sum of money for them initially and they would be paid off or paid for over a period of years or if the employer is very wealthy, in full, at the time of purchase. The employer/company would be able to write off their operating cost as a business expense, plus maintenance and depreciation over several years. But they do not draw a salary.
If these robots were sentient, then the company should provide a suitable living complex for them to reside, instead of the inside of a shipping container (reference iRobot).
There are several schools of thought on the treatment of non-human beings/entities.
Personally, if a robot was sentient I would try to treat it as an equal, whether it's intellect was lesser or greater than mine. If it was sentient and was able to experience an equivalent to emotions, and feelings, then why would I not treat it as an equal? We get what we give.

Robots can make any task a exciting fun pleasure. But the smarter ones won't be able to because it's not the smartest thing to do. One task is to choose your task wisely 0o.
