Creatures Online
« on: March 22, 2015, 08:46:30 pm »
After browsing through many of the posts in these forums and getting all inspired to venture out into maybe creating my own little AI program, I started daydreaming about the things I would like to have as part of an ai program.  I used to play this game called creatures a long time ago.  It's an artificial life game where you are responsible for the upbringing of norns. They learn from you and each other. They have a set of genetics and are able to reproduce, making it possible to cross breed with a other life forms.

It was a very neat idea.  I think the grandoids game that is in development is being done by a guy who created creatures. I might be wrong though.

Anyways, it turns out that there is a new version of creatures in the works which is in 3d. I'll be very interested to see it.

Have a look for yourself.

I played Docking Station for a while. Good old Knytetrypper introduced me to Creatures many moons ago.

You are correct Grandroids is made by Steve Grand who created Creatures. He had a kickstarter campaign and we supported him. It's taking longer than expected, I haven't checked into the private forum lately, so don't really now how it's going.

I had not heard of this 3D online version yet, it looks great, good find  O0
