You're a very good clever salesman Art, even if the thing is free. All that looks so easy. You convinced me. 8)

But just about SL, I guess it's important to read (before) the problems that some residents might encounter.

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linux_Viewer#System_Requirements

For other purposes, I'm sure your enthusiasm is justified. Thanks. O0

You are given the option to select either the 32 bit or 64 bit version Before downloading.

I know it's probably not for everyone but people should at least give it a look, especially those
concerned with privacy, virus attacks, cost, behavior and customization. Otherwise, keep doing
the MS upgrade shuffle and hand over some more $$$'s.  :knuppel2: ;)

Gt40, here is a panel of hundreds of services, similar, more or less, secondlife. :)

I tested the gt40 virtual world created by IBM. The avatar are very realistic, but little known, for the moment. ;)

Hi everyone!! Christmas soon but no, I don't plan to change my prehistoric PC (thanks again Data, I don't forget you saved it when I thought it was the end). :)

And I know this isn't politically correct to say, but I must admit I have a lot of fun with my netbook in SL. I'm doing many experiments (I never tried Ubuntu but it's obviously a future option). And, very strange, some features run with the Atom when they don't want to work with the Pentium 4! In fact, most of the time, I use both, with two different avatars running at the same time.

Despite all the "ayatollas" we have on SL forums ("nothing else but the best of the best for SL!"), sometimes (often) it's so good to encounter people who are happy with what they have, even netbooks.

Like this person:

http://secondlifemadeeasy.blogspot.fr/  (just google to get all the posts, if you're interested).

http://secondlifemadeeasy.blogspot.fr/2009/08/welcome-to-second-life-made-easy-blog.html (the first one)

And about mesh viewers:

http://secondlifemadeeasy.blogspot.fr/2012/01/second-life-meshes-part-2.html

Don't worry, I don't want to convert you to netbooks. Just a little hello. 8)

Some months ago, this thing was my ultimate dream:

http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptop/asus-eee-pc-1215n.aspx

Fortunately, despite these stupid tablets, I hope 2013 (if the end of the world doesn't come before) will be a great year (oops again?) for netbooks and subnotebooks.

(I love this one a lot, a very good choice for SL. The price, what price? It's a dream... As always, I have no money) ::)

I had my eye on one of the Asus machines too they look very good to me.  A bit of a pipe dream for me as I don't actually need it, it's only the gadget freak in me that wants it  ;D

I like netbooks and tablets but, yes there is a but you knew there would be  ;D

The screens are too small, when you are used to having a 37 incher then a 10 inch just wont do.

Just another one of my silly little quirks  :D

You're right Data. More toys or jewels than computers...

You're right Freddy. No (real) life without dreams and gadgets...

Does SL work on tablets ?

My phone is great for keeping up with things when I am away from home, but I couldn't use a small screen full time either.

This little tablet could SL nicely, it has an i5 CPU with Intel HD 3000 graphics.

But cost something like £1000  :o

Yesterday, my first avatar decided to leave the adult land and finally visit London. He was walking in Abbey Road when suddenly...

London is an amazing city (in RL and in SL). 8)

Whatever the hardware you have (believe it or not, I'm happy with mine) you can find all you need on SL forums, and improve your SL "experience", even with a low-end computer.

Of course nobody here worries about mesh-viewers. The very few members of AiDreams still going in SL have top machines for top gamers (far away from the average SLer, no problem, I'm not jealous LOL). ;)

http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Viewer/Mesh-Viewer-horrible-framerate/td-p/1205631

It was the time of early mesh-viewers. It seems nothing really changed... ::)
