I redo the instant trial. The result is very bad. I think it's impossible for me to use SL. Bandwidth is heavier. :-[

Sorry Claude if your internet connection isn't very good. I have a friend with a satellite connection like yours. He can use internet for work but not for games online. He's very happy that ADSL will arrive in his village very soon.

Maybe you could reduce the Maximum Bandwith (in Preferences) to 300 kbps (and less). It doesn't improve the connection but, at least, you will avoid to lose too many packets.

"Active Worlds", I remember, I went there with my old computer under W98. I recently checked it but it's becoming a desert.

Ah SL...  ;)

Yes agree with GT, It doesn’t look like your connection is good enough for SL Claude, you really need something like a speed of around 10Mb to be able to move around in the virtual world.

On another note:
I have had a report sent in to LL about my behaviour in SL, I was on a sand box testing some of my particle and lighting spells and some people took offence to it and accused my of griefing them, at least 4 reports were submitted, now I am waiting for the ban normally takes 4 to 5 days.

What has happened to Second Life, all the fun is gone and some of the people in there take it way too seriously, I mean it’s only a game at the end of the day but if someone or a group of friends doesn’t like you they can gang up on you send in 5 reports and your banned.

NO more of my money going to LL, thats for sure.

Its not like that in SL Freddy, you have to ask permission of the people around you if you want to use spells on them, and where is the fun in that? Heaven forbid you forget someone and upset them, you will get reported.

Some people just do take it way too seriously.

Gt40, yes it is certainly a concern, the parameter. But if I reduced capacity, the original setting. Sl, said that the conduct will be faster, but the subject will become blurred.

DataHopa, yes, I understand, some places are not cool. I have experience on a world, reserved, a political network, but I could not know, exactly. Moscow avoided the world. SL 2010, worked perfectly on my Vista. But I think that SL, increased bandwidth, since 2010.

Oh guys, I'm so disappointed you're disappointed. Nothing like that in the adult part of SL. And I can affirm that my sim is a paradise for my friends and all the residents (and more if affinity...) who visit. :P

Claude, after being sure you don't lose packets anymore, I think you must clear the cache. Because of the lost packets, the cache (and then the RAM) is full of corrupted elements.

No worries Claude, there are thousands things to do with a computer. Better to choose the one we prefer and not to be annoyed by technical contraints.

For me, SL isn't a game but an extension of RL, a real second life (I can notice I'm not the only one). Ok I'm addicted but I don't smoke, don't drink, give only 2 euros/week to Lotto (Loto in France, lol), SL is my only drug. So I'm happy to give my money to LL every month.

I see that iClone is your addiction and it's a very good addiction. ;)

A friend of mine says SL is a great idea, the only thing that spoils it is the people.

I said, but that’s the point isn’t it?

Yes, he said, that’s the problem. :2funny:

Lol Data, I understand what you mean.  :)

As I still wrote, "MY" SL is a true paradise with only smart residents. Except one person, banned and ejected from my main place, for a very specific reason.

After carefully reading his profile, I notice he's French, like me. A shame!!  ;D

(no problem, France doesn't exist in SL)

Gt40, the good news. I redid the entire parameter, reducing all the office, I reduced everything. The result is amazing! No discomfort to the processor and speed, more sensitive. I must absolutely keep this setting. I am an arm of a force SL.
 O0
DataHopa, I was also sent by a kick yesterday. But Phoenix, have a parameter against the 'shoot'. So I am a direct report abuse. :knuppel2:
It must do so respected. >:D ;D

GT40 is a game of Solitaire. But for all programs, the setting is very delicate. But it takes time. It took me one week to understand SL. SecondLife is preset to the broad bands. But it can also operate in moderate. But that SecondLife, does not say in the recommendation. Always put his hands dirty in for a real result. ;)
