Haha. There is some quite realistic life size dolls out there, that don't move or think. I [think] they could be better though a bit in shape and color.

The ones that move and/or think are much more expensive though. They have AI and can move face and arms and excrete fluid, and remember memories. I found one for 14,000$.

With all the animatronic capabilities of the sex robots, you'd think to put eyes in the bot and it smiling and saying hello and/or your name would be child's play. None of the sexbots have camera eyes! When you see something like the video below: that actually does smile and say its owner's name you then ask are the sexbots worth $14K? I did manage to find a vendor that would sell just a head for $1200 but it's a Chinese head where the lips barely move.

It is funny that after five or so years since COZMO has come out nothing, other than NAO, is as sociable... :-\

$1200 for that head? Can we say...RIP-OFF? I thought we could.  O0

Can you make one better? The manufacture is allowing access to its SDK so you can develop your own AI and facial expressions.

No, I am not in the business of making robots, humanoids or the like but I do have responsible control over my money and what I would choose to spend it on.

If I was in the market for a humanoid, it would certainly NOT be that one! It is like a hinged-jaw mannequin with wide doll-like eyes. Light years from any "Uncanny Valley"! (Realistic Human looking being).

I would think that David Hanson would have a far better chance of creating a more believable humanoid but that's a work in progress.

Well, Sophia isn't much better, her mouth really doesn't form words and she just moves that jaw up and down. The video you see of that head is using the manufacture's software, however, the manufacturer claims they will allow one to use their SDK to build novel or better facial expressions and lip-synching. If you play the video to its end you'll see that the head can move the mouth with greater degree of motion. For the price, considering that Harmony's head alone is priced at $8000 and its SDK is not available, Emma (Robot Head) isn't a bad deal.  Also, the ability to even script Harmony's responses is not available in the retail version!

Here's another manufacturer that is getting pretty close to that "Blade Runner" fantasy:

The fantastic aspect of both Blade Runner movies that always had the greatest impact on me was the super human abilities of the replicants. Their speed, power, and intelligence was breathtaking. The way they were treated by humans was despicable and I think they would deserve much better than us.

As far as movie robots go, my current favorites are CASE and TARS from "Interstellar"
