Hi all,

My team and I are excited to share with this community our film 'Opus Cope: An Algorithmic Opera,' which celebrates the groundbreaking work of algorithmic composer David Cope and the profound ways in which humans and machines (AI) can be creative.

David has been a firm believer that creativity is everywhere, and his work reflects these values of compassion and understanding, where humans and AI are not necessarily at odds with each other. This collaboration between human and machine resulted from his own creative block in the 80's which led to the first algorithmically composed opera.

'Opus Cope' has screened in festivals across the globe, winning the jury prize at Rock This Town Festival in France, and is scheduled for a national TV release on PBS in the US and streaming platforms like Amazon Prime and Tubi later this year.

We will keep you posted once the film is available to watch, but in the meantime, feel free to check out our trailer:

Best,
Jae

Hi folks,

Our film is now available on available Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B0B8TXXV5M/ref=atv_dp_share_cu_r.

Set to a score featuring recombined compositions from classical music composers, the film explores what it means to be creative from someone who's spent their life dedicated to creativity. For those not familiar with David and his work, here's a popular Radiolab podcast https://fb.watch/gibrhhGcQR/.

We invite you to watch, rate, review, and share our film with other friends, family, and networks. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Jae

Thanks for posting this.

1982 was not long after the time the first IBM PC was released.
I can only wonder with enjoyment,  how those prototyping wires,
are connecting to the untapped power of the early personal
computer at 1:19 in the trailer.

It may amaze some people to learn that Industrial Computing
is still in service today.  Industrial Computing A.I. is so genius, it is in the computer museum,
while still in service in city building elevators and oil burners.
Those prototyping wires are like locks of human hair.

Artificial Intelligence has been around longer than Personal Computers.
