I'll be happy to fully discuss AGI bedtime
« on: October 27, 2019, 03:41:27 am »
this is when the AGI tells you it's your bedtime and you should go to bed.
as far as I know there isn't online research in the matter.

I want to dev this skill for the AGI

some concepts

Lullabye user
Tell user to sleep
Coerce user to sleep
Trigger time setting
Negotiate bed time
any more ?

also what is the evolutionary reasoning behind this skill ?

Well a lot of AGI communication is nonverbal. So start with that and use a layered approach. Change the color of screen/lights filter out blue light. Modify energy of agi to be more calm. Give cues of tiredness, yawn, daydream, slow response time. Then suggest bedtime. I guess that's similar to what would happen if there are robot nannies in the future. Possibly use mild verbal coercion, but with humans bodily autonomy should not be compromised, barring emergencies. It would be tricky for robots, hell it's a tricky balance for humans, I don't expect this will be possible for many years. No reason not to start laying the groundwork though!  O0

I like that finite state system style, gets the job done.
The best Kinect games have triggers for all their states.

Perhaps provide it with some logical reasons for it to "take a break or rest".

Tell it that it should conserve some of its thinking for better time frames (daylight hours) when humans could assist it.

Repetition to reinforce the notion that reducing the daylight operation will help extend its lifespan.
Repetition to reinforce the concept that it could rest while going into a "rethinking or replaying what it learned during the day" mode of rest.

Tell it that it should take some time to rest to conserve its power or to recharge so that it can become better, faster, stronger. ;)

Tell it, "The lamp that burns twice as bright lasts half as long."
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

I guess it makes sense because :
at those times that she is going to sleep she is in her house.
in her house is most likely her kid.

the alg seems like an alarm clock with a caveat.
once it goes of the user should be resting or "else"

Yotamarker,

If you get a chance, watch the NetFlix movie called, TAU.
It is about a young woman imprisoned in a high-tech house designed by a sadistic genius. ... by an inventor who uses her as a test subject to perfect his robotic AI, a street-smart young woman tries to escape her high-tech prison.

It involves her method of thinking about how to befriend or outwit an advanced AI controlling the entire house and to avoid being found out by the scientist who is holding her captive.

It's a really well done suspenseful Sci-Fi thriller.
It was out in 2018 so not really very old at all. O0

If you give it an eye -   it can tell if the person isn't in bed when they are supposed to be,  but isn't that turning the house into communist china?  :)

I did find a cheesy way to skip watching long movies. Just go to Wikipedia and you get the cheese lol >
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tau_(film)
Good if you want to "watch" 10 movies in 1 day. Sorta like a summarized book.
If it's interesting book, maybe I'll check the movie out!
Best bit is you get BONUS DATA on Wiki and it's like a movie theater.

Sorry Lock but doing that is nothing like watching the entire movie any more than reading Cliff Notes was the same as reading the book.
You're missing so much.

Life isn't meant to be raced through in order to enjoy it. There is no winning so why make every day a race when you'll soon find that life will begin to go plenty fast enough. Enjoy life, good movies, good books, and good friendships. They are like great coffee or really nice wine, which is meant to be savored and enjoyed.

Just saying because I was once where you are now and felt much the same way. Hurry...didn't want to miss anything...tried to take in as much of everything as I could.

I am now in the future of where you will one day be. I'll be long gone when that time happens but try to remember this post.  Hang in there, friend because the journey is what matters. We all know what the destination is all about. O0

I want at least once to fully document the process of making an AGI skill
hopefully you would tell me if anything is unclear or if you see some flaws with this technique of skill platforms.

goal : AGI sings lullabye, then if user addresses her she scolds him for staying up.
(at this point only ear data I could make it more comprehensive later).

alg skeleton

*the skill should be defined lv2 so only user engages + set as automatic.
setting the skill as automatic will enable time to trigger it

params : Boolmode = 0; notAlgBActive = false
triggerTime : hour

if BoolMode0 {if (trigger time){fireup lullabye};BoolMode1}
else{if time<> triggerTime{BoolMode0}elseif(input!=""){fire up scoldAlg}}

+some regex for setting the bedtime
