5) Environmental Awareness - The Agent has the ability to sense, map, and navigate it's environment.

I give you the first part of this one, anything which can be seen to be alive, must be able to sense data external to its integument. Otherwise it cannot exhibit reaction to that data (a traditional requirement of Life which you missed completely). If it cannot exhibit a reaction to stimulus, it may be alive, but we will not be able to detect it.

   The second point would seem to be a part of Intelligence. First, it requires multiple sensors to build a map instead of a stream, it requires memory to retain previous data with which to compare current data, and it requires a mind to stand above the map and behold it.

   The third part is species bias, many forms of life cannot navigate at all, even if you count the questing of the roots of  plants there are forms which are carried on currents with no ability to change their course.
