I believe the joker, with his super sanity condition, laughs due to his loneliness which is caused by the profound understanding of the singularitypill
he sees the NPCs for their true selves and aims to singularitypill them to find logical PCs.

this is also why he doesn't appear to laugh when others laugh with him.

the thing about AI is transforming this mini philosophical puzzle solutions into algorithms. a joker waifubot would be fun

the singularitypill means to create other non NPC souls using AI code

People laugh for many reasons, but I think it's always a sudden rush of easiness...

People being themselves can be funny for some but not for others...
Trying hard to accomplish something and finally achieving it can be funny for that one person but not for others...

In America, a classic joke is a dignified figure falling over and hurting themselves... the reason behind that is most people feel suppressed/belittled by tall dignified figures.

If there is such a thing as an NPC,  I think they would be greater than the PC, IMO.     They are god, (the npc) angels magical in a world with nonmagical people (us.)
